A lecturer at the Department of Political Science, University of Ibadan, Dr Idowu Johnson, has called on the federal government to put in place people-friendly policies rather than calling for patience and sacrifices from citizens.

Dr. Johnson who made the call on the Crest breakfast show yesterday said the Tinubu-led government has no excuses to grumble if truly, it is prepared for the task.

The Lecturer, however, believes the labour union’s demand of 200,000 Naira minimum wage is not feasible, but calls for a proper review of the minimum wage.

He opined that the removal of fuel subsidies was apt, but measures to cushion the effect of its removal should have been put in place before deciding on the subsidy removal.
