A lecturer of history in Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba Akoko (AAUA), Dr Adedayo Afe, has berated the government for removing history from school’s curriculum in the first place, before thinking of reintroducing it to schools.

Dr Afe who spoke while featuring on the Crest Breakfast Show, ‘Eyi Ara’, noted that the re-introduction of history in schools will foster socio-economic development in the country.

Meanwhile, the Director of Schools Service In Ondo State Ministry of Education, Science and Technology, Dr Akindele Ige, said the government is working on recruiting more history teachers.

He however charged students to embrace the subject to encourage both the government and their teachers.
