A historian and lecturer in the Department of History and International Studies, at the University of Benin, Felix Osarhiemen, believes there is nothing wrong with the choice of the Muslim-Muslim ticket if it will bring the desired growth and development to Nigeria.
Osarhiemen, who was reacting to the choice of Kashim Shettima as running mate to the APC presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu while speaking on the Crest Breakfast Show today, said the sentiment of the Muslim-Muslim ticket should not be criteria for electing leaders.
The lecturer said religious matters have become secondary to many Nigerians who only want to be served with good governance and dividend of democracy.
Osarhiemen however said the ruling party will have to work hard to convince Nigerians to buy into their Muslim-Muslim ticket, saying Nigerians are not really used to such reality yet.
It would be recalled that the APC presidential candidate for the 2023 election who is a Muslim, Bola Tinubu, yesterday announced a former Governor of Borno State, Kashim Shettima, who is also a Muslim as his running mate, a development which is still attracting many criticisms and mixed reactions across the country.
