Vice President (external affairs) of the National Association of Nigerian Students, Afeez Akinteye, says the occupation of airports by Nigerian students in protesting the ongoing ASUU strike is eliciting positive response from government.

Akinteye spoke on the crest breakfast show on Friday.

While acknowledging that their actions may have infringed on the right of other Nigerians, Akinteye said students took to airports as a means to get government to expedite action on the negotiations.

Akinteye applauded the judgement of the national industrial court directing ASUU to resume while negotiations are ongoing, noting that it is a win-win situation for students and lecturers.

He urged ASUU and the federal government to shift grounds in the interests of Nigerian students.
