The Lagos State Police Command yesterday said its detectives arrested one Andy Edwards for armed robbery after parading himself as an army captain.

Edwards was said to have disguised as a military officer to lure unsuspecting victims and robbed them of their valuables at gunpoint.

It was learnt that the 39-year-old man pretentiously presented himself as a modeling agent to lure ladies for auditioning after which they were robbed of their cars and other valuables.

Items including one Ford Edge SUV with registration number KRD 276 EG, a sewing machine, one POS machine with six SIM cards, two pairs of military camouflage uniform, one number plate with the number AFL469 GD, were recovered from the suspect’s house.

The Spokesperson for the State Police Command, Benjamin Hundeyin, disclosed this in a statement yestday where he stated that the command acted after receipt of a complaint from one of Edwards’ victims whose identity remained undisclosed.
