A former Commissioner for Works in Ondo State, Engr Gboye Adegbenro has congratulated Senator Ademola Adeleke of the People’s Democratic Party on his victory at Saturday’s governorship election in Osun state.
Senator Adeleke polled a total of 403, 371 votes and won 17 of the 30 local government areas in the state, to defeat his closest rival, APC candidate and the incumbent governor Gboyega Oyetola who polled a total of 375,927 votes and won 13 of the 30 local government areas in the state.
In a chat with Crest FM, Adegbenro described Adeleke’s victory as people’s choice, adding that the unwavering resolve of the Osun people to speak with one voice gave Adeleke the victory.
The renowned Consulting Engineer congratulated the people of Osun for trouping out in large number to vote, stand with their votes and wait till collation of all results and eventual declaration or their choice as the winner.
Adegbenro also applauded the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for what he described as a job well done, charging the electoral umpire to work on the few challenges encountered during the exercise against future elections.
He however charged the governor-elect to be magnanimous in victory for all round developments and successful outing when his tenure gets underway.
Adegbenro also congratulated other parties and their candidates for putting up a good fight before, during and after the electioneering processes.
