The Ondo state chapter of the Nigeria Union of Pensioners (NUP), has called on the state government to pay the outstanding gratuities and pensions for pensioners in the state.
The NUP state chairman Comrade Johnson Osunyemi while featuring on the Crest Breakfast Show ‘Eyi Ara’, decried the state of the economy, which has affected the monthly payment of pensioners.
Also speaking, the state secretary Comrade Akin Sunday expressed concern that the pensioners in the state are being owed six months while local government pensioners are expecting a seven months pension from their respective councils.
This is coming barely 48 hours after the state governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu assured public servants that all outstanding salaries would be paid before the end of his administration.
