A Security Expert, Mr Abu Adams, has charged Nigeria to see the current wave of insecurity in the country as a war situation and handle it as such to find a lasting solution.
He gave the charge while speaking on the recent wave of kidnapping in Zamfara, Ondo and some other states, on Crest Fm’s Programme The Crest Breakfast Show.
Abu Adams explained that Nigeria should engage in cutting of national and international financing of insecurity, training and retraining of security personnel and deepen collaboration between community, state and federal policing to improve the security structure of the country.
Explaining the need to mitigate human trafficking which is also another form of insecurity currently ravaging the country, the Public Relations Officer of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC) in Ondo state, Mr Daniel Aidamenbor, who also featured on the show, maintained that security must be seen as everyone’s business, adding that Nigerians must be proactive instead of being reactive.
It would be recalled that about 25 choristers were abducted on their way to a ceremony along Ose Local Government Area of Ondo State, just as the State NSCDC arrested two human trafficking suspects few days ago in their fight against insecurity.
Aidamenbor charged Nigerians to he very security conscious and be sensitive to security happenings around them.
