The chairman, National union of teachers, Ondo state chapter, Comrade Victor Amoko, has urged Ondo state government to endorse the domestication of the law passed by the National Assembly which increased the retirement age of primary and secondary school teachers from 60 to 65 years and 35 – 40 service years.

Amoko while speaking on the Crest Breakfast Show ‘Eyi Ara’ on Thursday on the heels of world 2023 Teachers Day, called on the government to cooperate with other stakeholders in the educational sector to rid issues bedeviling the sector.

Also speaking on the show, a retired school principal, Mr Kayode Adebayo who charged teachers on the need to develop themselves,also called on the Government to ensure the improvement of the standard of education in the country.

This year World Teachers Day teachers day celebration focuses on the theme, “The Teachers We Need for the Education We Want: The Global Imperative to Reverse Teacher Shortage,” and must be addressed in Nigeria to revive the educational sector.
