The General Secretary of the Ondo State Petrol Dealers and Marketers Association, Engineer Kolade Omotayo has urged Nigerians to brace up for challenges ahead especially in the oil sector which will, in the long run, bring a better welfare for all and sundry.
He spoke on the transition of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) which will now be known as a private company on Crest FM’s Programme, Crest Breakfast Show where he gave the submission.
He said the NNPC has set its own fuel price now as a single player in the oil field just as other players will have to determine their own prices that would be profitable to their operations which might be initially astronomical.
Omotayo however decried the fact that marketers have always been used as chess puns in the entire power play within the sector as the NNPC had always used them against the people to achieve its own desirable ends.
Earlier, an energy expert, Ademola Adigun said the privatization of the NNPC will make it more Accountable and would favour the entire commonwealth in its entirety if truly followed through.
He however said the move will not stop increment in fuel pump price across the country.
