Legal luminary, Prof Itse Sagay (SAN), has re-echoed the need for government to allow Nigerians bear firearms to protect themselves.
Speaking exclusively with Crest FM on The Crest Breakfast Show yesterday, Sagay believes unprovoked attacks by bandits will reduce if communities are allowed to arm themselves with weapons for defence.
The human rights activist while absolving president Muhammadu Buhari of blame, said any government would have been overwhelmed, as nobody could have envisaged the spate of attacks happening in all parts of the country.
Speaking on the 2023 general elections, Prof Sagay stressed the need for people with strong values and sincerity of purpose to be elected into leadership positions in next year’s general elections.
