The Akure North/Akure South Federal constituency primary rlections of the All Progressive Congress was yesterday disrupted as the process was married by shooting after suspected thugs tried to impede the conclusion of the process.

The election which was initially schedule to commence at 11am did not start until after 4pm.

The process which was halted twice due to protests from one of the aspirants and electoral officers later went ahead after agreement by some stakeholders at the polls.

The process then degenerated into a mayhem after the electoral officers and agents of the aspirants moved to count the already sorted votes cast, as thugs bursted into the venue and carted away the ballot boxes and papers

Heavy gunshots then rented the air as journalists and party supporters scampered for safety afterwhich security operatives apprehended some of them.
