The Federal Government has requested the suspension of 3,000 workers who did not show up during the 2013 to 2020 service-wide verification.

The Head of Service of the Federation (HoSF), Dr. Folashade Yemi-Esan, announced this at a national policy dialogue on entrenching transparency in public service recruitments in Nigeria organised by the Independent Corrupt Practices and other related Offices Commission (ICPC) yesterday in Abuja.

The HoSF said the government made the request through the Federal Civil Service Commission (FCSC).

Dr. Yemi-Esan, who said there are over 1,000 individuals with fake appointment letters in one ministry, added that the government was taking several steps to sanitise the system.
