The Governor of Ogun State, Dapo Abiodun yesterday, asked the national chairman of the All Progressives Congress, Abdullah Adamu, to disregard crime allegations in a petition sent to his office, seeking his disqualification from participating in the 2022 governorship primary in the state.

Abiodun through his legal team from the Chambers of Afe Babalola, SAN, said the petition was a deliberate move to deprive him of the opportunity to set the records straight, claiming that the petition was characterized by falsehood and malice.

The governor in the letter dated April 19, 2022, written by the law firm while responding to the petition, described the petition dated 12th April 2022, as full of spurious and unfounded allegations meant to mislead the party into disqualifying him from participating in the 2023 governorship election.

Chief Press Secretary to the governor, Kunle Somorin in a statement, disclosed that the reply to the petition was received at the National Secretariat of the APC by Ambassador Samuel Jimba on April 26, saying, the petition was not served on the governor.
