Supporters of the Labour Party Presidential Candidate, Peter Obi, yesterday grounded commercial activities and movement in the Lekki area of Lagos State, as they defied police orders and rallied at the Lekki toll-gate.

The ‘Obidients’, as they are fondly called, gathered in the morning at the toll-gate despite heavy police presence on the ground.

Although they were asked by the police not to gather at the toll-gate, the conveners of the rally said they had gone ahead of the police to get a court order earlier in the week, on Monday, to enable them hold their campaign.

Private cars and commercial bus drivers found alternative routes out of the traffic on the Lekki-Epe Expressway, as the traffic was almost at a standstill.
