The Bayelsa State Police Command has arrested two suspects for alleged gunrunning in the state.

A statement by the spokesman for the command, Asinim Butswat, said the suspects, identified as Seibo Dokubo and Boma Daniel, were nabbed at a brothel in Ayama, near Yenagoa, on the 12th of May.

It listed items recovered from them as one Brownie pistol loaded with 8.9mm ammunition, three expended 12.7mm ammunition, the sum of Two million naira and a vehicle without a number plate suspected to have been stolen.

The command said the suspects “wanted to procure AK-47 rifles for kidnap purposes.”
