The Ondo State Governor, Rotimi Akeredolu, yesterda asked the Central Bank of Nigeria Governor, Godwin Emefiele, to resign from his position immediately following his intent to engage in partisan politics and contest the 2023 presidential election.

It was earlier reported that Emefiele picked the All Progressives Congress 100 Million Naira presidential nomination and expression of interest form.

However, Akeredolu, in a statement he personally signed yesterday described the CBN governor’s move as “a joke taken too far”.

The statement was titled, “The CBN governor must disengage forthwith”.
